According to a local news report<\/a> covering the collision, the accident occurred on Interstate 75, near mile-marker 242 in Hillsborough County.<\/p>\n Evidently, a father and his three children were heading southbound in a Ford SUV when they were rear-ended by a pick-up truck that was traveling at a high rate of speed. The force from the collision caused the SUV to roll onto its side. As the SUV rolled into the median, two of the three children inside were thrown from the vehicle. One of the children is still in critical condition, and the other two sustained serious injuries but are expected to recover.<\/p>\n The driver of the pick-up truck continued southbound on I-75 after the accident. His abandoned vehicle was located approximately 13 miles away from the scene of the accident. Authorities later arrested the driver in Manatee County. At the time of his arrest, the driver had a blood-alcohol content of .15, which is roughly twice the legal limit in Florida.
